However the rest of the transaction was professional and shipping speedy. I cannot understand why the first time these were so nice, just like home, and this time so dry and unedible. (More customer reviews)The Silly Yak Bakery is great! Such fresh tasting goodies that most celiacs never get. It is a great alternative to having to buy bulk ingredients and slaving in the kitchen making huge batches of something that we want just enough for one or two sittings. Also it gives the variety that you can't get making it yourself unless you make 10 different recipes. We will definitely order again. Shipping was actually very good as we live in a remote area and being baked on a Sunday we received it on a Wednesday.

(More customer reviews)I mash up a banana with this, add some walnuts, olive oil and cinnamon and a dash of cloves to make muffins. As a diabetic, I can't deal with processed flour or even whole wheat flours. As this is 100% beans, it has nutritional profile of beans not flour, so I have no problems at all. I don't use any salt. If you wanted you could use salt, but you don't need to use any. I haven't used it for anything else yet.

It is great when made just as directed, or used in other ways. I like brushing the crust with egg yolk to get a rich brown color (0ften missing with most GF breads). I have also used a tsp. of turbanado sugar in the water to proof the yeast and it makes a completely different sandwich or dinner bread.

(More customer reviews)This is delicious - it's not like the usual "gourmet" kiwi jam where mostly you only taste a sugar gooyness with no hint of actual kiwi, this has the full texture and flavor of the yummy little fruits. And trust me, I've tried MANY kiwi jams. I am reordering these in large numbers because I tend to eat some of it straight from the jar - another plus is that it's not too sweet, but just right. I think Barry Farms is really good at jams and preserves - all the ones I've tried have been fantastic and true to the fruit they actually contain.

I have so far only used it in mashed potatoes and potato salad. I think I will really start cooking with in in fall and winter when my cold weather standbys start appearing.

(More customer reviews)I'm a huge fan of Ezekiel 4:9 cereal, which is absolutely delicious (especially hot) as well as wholesome. Ezekiel 4:9 bread (which is sold frozen) is also pretty good. But their spaghetti? Not so much.
First off, no matter how much you boil it, it has a rough texture that takes away the great aesthetic virtue of spaghetti: that delicate, wrap-around-your-fork silkiness. And then there's the taste. It's difficult to describe (one favorable reviewer compares it to a bran muffin); in any case, it's a distinctive flavor that, in my opinion, does not play well with pasta sauce. And if spaghetti won't go with sauce, then what's the point?

So far, the product has performed wonderfully each time I have used it. I've made about 1/2 dozen pizzas using my own dough recipe and it has delivered each time. The 5 lb. size is nice, as it is hard to find anything less than 25 lb. bags. Price per pound compared to King Arthur's high gluten flour, it is about the same but slightly less, even with shipping & handling charges. Overall rating: EXCELLENT!

The only way to have this work at all is to use considerably more than recommended, and even then you need to let your dough rest for several minutes in order for it not to "fight back". I was looking for something less expensive than the dough relaxer sold elsewhere. I guess you get what you pay for !
